Resound more like a eulogy than a
Fascinating description of how insects have been found to
Understand Mandarin commands
And just like an aging photograph
Your words wander from yellow to grey
And just like bookends
The air between us becomes
Ever more narrow
As our vermilion pupils
Become ever closer
