Redemption
This is your redemption.
This is me, a former you, saying it’s okay.
It’s okay that you felt absent, and petrified, and insecure.
It’s okay that you were drowning in self-hatred.
It’s okay that you let your confident lay scorched, and your dreams charred.
It’s okay that you let blackness invade your heart, and it’s that you are still ashamed.
It’s okay that you let the forged happiness over run the complexity of your tears.
It’s okay that you forgot family, and in forgetting family, you forgot yourself.
Today, right now, I am telling you that you are redeemed.
You are forgiven.
I am not letting the demons of failure plague your every move anymore.
You are no longer a meager shadow of what you once were.
This is your redemption.
