Prayer.
I pray one day you'll know the extent of my injuries.
You'll see the damage you embedded into my flesh.
I pray that one day you'll remember your lies.
And feel severely sick to your stomach.
I pray that one day you'll remember my weakness.
And see me that day with nothing but strength.
I pray that one day you'll stop making excuses.
It was never hereditary. And you know it.
I pray that on day you'll lose your breath for a moment.
To get a taste of my regular attacks.
I used to pray that one day I wouldn't be such a f*** up.
You convinced me I was.
I used to pray that one day I would fill the hole in my heart.
Where you verbally cut and twisted the knife for years.
I used to pray that one day the garage door would never open.
Because that meant that I would still be safe.
I used to pray that one day I would know what it was like to breathe.
Without my heart beat choking me till I needed that pink pill.
I used to pray.. that one day you would beat me. Physically beat me.
So that I would at least have the scars and bruises as a medal to prove I survived..
I now have nothing but the feelings and the thoughts I deal with everyday.
And my weakness is your medal.
And mostly I pray.. that from this day on, I will never..ever be like you.
