Words
You swallowed it
word by word, you swallowed it
And as it passed your tongue and
down your throat
choking your very existence and
strangling your voice
It pierced your heart––
But it didn’t wound it,
your heart accepted it as gold
and it ran as blood through your veins
And through your veins it stays today
The words of my heart that I could never say
And that remained as heavy silence in the open
atmosphere
