moving
in out front back
an improvised
choreographed
dance

feet
spin
on the asphalt stage
twirl
to the beat of throbbing horns

searchlight eyes
wink
as hot dark breath
puffs out
in clouds

lyrics
of profanities
are sung out
over an orchestra
of screeches

the finale
has fireworks
sparks
a cacophony of drums
pound pound pound
boom boom boom
metal hitting metal
the crash of cymbals

and then it’s over
