Stars are the only
witnesses to
acts like this.

Girls with the shine
of their shames
apparent on their
cheeks.

The taste of his
love still lamenting
their lips.

Sharing needles
with Jesus because
sins don’t feel this
thrilling.

Hoping that their
sanity will cover
the cost of an
opiate induced
world.

Where dreams of
melting into the
sun-scorched clouds
become a reality,
a possibility,
an improbability,
worth the risk.

Thoughts lost in
fragments because
they’re too volatile
to be taken in full.

They might explode
and melt their
minds.

That’s the kind of
chaos they want to
end in.

The alliteration makes this sound so pretty when what you're talking about is so horrible--great contrast, really interesting.

Very good job! The first few stanzas are my favourite, especially the one with the taste lamenting on their lips! Very well written, and keep it up!
