While I Sleep

While I sleep
While I sleep, the owls hoot and screech,
The moon comes out and shines behind the clouds.
While I sleep, my cat wanders aimlessly around my house, searching for someone to play with.
Bats come out for a bite to eat,
And raccoons invade the trash cans.
But people, like me, cuddle underneath the warm covers, trying to sleep.
While I sleep, I dream a sweet dream.
