An Eggshell
Do you ever feel…
Don't worry, I'm not going to
Say plastic bag
For I'm not light enough
To drift in the wind
So easily.
I'm more like a tree
Deeply rooted to the ground,
With nowhere to go
But, then again, I'm not
Strong, or firm,
Like a tree…
I'm weak, fragile,
Sensitive.
Maybe I'm like a feather
Wait, the floats through the wind
Like a plastic bag,
Which I am not.
But I have the same soft,
Delicate, fragile, light properties.
Not a tree,
Not a feather,
Not a plastic bag,
Maybe…
An eggshell.
Strong enough to protect,
But weak enough to be destroyed
By a tiny tap on a hard surface.
That's me.
