Captured
When I was young I hand no idea,
you tried to hide it,
make us kids not wonder
and seem like it was all normal,
but as I grew older
it got even worse.
You forget about what mattered most,
you didn't care who you hurt,
when we cried you claimed it was fake,
this stuff that you called you escape,
was taking your life,
every time you took more
you did it to feel alive,
to be yourself,
but really what did it cause?
It made the people that love you not want to be around,
it took our mother away,
and made her a stranger.
I didn't know you,
it just wasn't the same,
you were captured by a demon,
that no one could get you away from,
and all I wanted was for you to be alright.
