Like a Flower

Open, beautiful, alive-
Encrusted with droplets of dew
Like a flower I thrive
My first sprout, I share with you

I trust the sun will shine
Never have I heard of Mother Nature’s lies
I believe rain will come down, just fine
There is nothing to tell me otherwise

But then the bee attacks in sting
And I gently start to close
For I can no longer feel spring
Never again, will I be protected from how the big wind blows
