One Me

One shade too pale for beautiful
One size too big for hot
One zit too many for gorgeous
Unfortunately, Me is all that I’ve got
I have been called bad names
I am put down more often than not
I have burdens I have to bear
Sadly, Me is all that I’ve got
I lie too much for perfect
I am always bubbly… well maybe not
I can be a downer
Regrettably, me is all that I’ve got
I have lived through a lot
Things will end well, that I can guarantee
One day I will be happy
How lucky I am to be me!
