My Normal Brain
Pulsing threw my veins,
Simulating my mind,
Filling it with emotions that aren’t really mine.
C17-H18-F3-N-O.
A formula, fit to make my brain right.
A SSRI- selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor;
Something they told me would make me normal,
Saying fluoxetine would fix me, make me right.
My brain lacks serotonin,
A neurotransmitter in the brain,
That makes me not normal ,
Which tells them I’m insane.
So they fill my blood,
Cloud my brain,
With artificial, chemically made emotions.
They like to call Prozac.
That’s my happiness in a condensed green pill,
One swallow, down it does,
Rushing threw my system,
C17-H18-F3-N-O.
It is finally going to make my brain,
What they call normal.
I fill be filled with the flood of serotonin,
And I shall be fixed this is what they declared.
“Give her a pill she will be fine.”
Filled with non existent emotions,
That my brain isn’t really having.
Fake happiness that’s all the doctors have created for me.
When will people realize,
Science is not society;
And my brain isn't fixed by a pill.
