Rainy Day

I love a rainy day.
Seeing water pooling, cascading from trees and rooftops.
Feeling the electricity in the air that makes all the hairs on the back of my neck stand up
as I feel the shower soak my skin.
Listening to the steady drizzle or pouring deluge,
hearing the hiss of a fine mist--
I can almost hear the satisfied sighs as the ground says its thank-yous to the sky.
I could listen to those endless thanks all day long.

But I hate the sound of the rain as it rattles against the cheap metal roof of the cheap metal box I call home.

Seriously. Pray to whatever God you choose that you never experience a heavy thunderstorm from inside a trailer. It's torture. Inescapable, noisy torture.
