Simplicity of Beauty
Something as simple as the beauty of perfection
Is not easily forgotten
What we had was perfect
What we had was beautiful
I could wander
In the mess of color that composed your eyes
Without noticing the passage of time
And then one moment
Adhered to the soul of father time
And the beauty melted away
Revealing an explosion of anguish
That clouded your eyes
And splintered my heart
Perfection has flaws
That cannot be concealed
Satin tears wave goodbye
As the moment passes
As the choice is made
The flaws in perfection
Will never heal
But the acknowledgement, the acceptance
Of these flaws
Make the beauty of your eyes
Rise to the surface once more.
