Cover Me Whole
Look at me
For what I'm not.
See my mask,
The shadows I hide in
They have become me
Unrevealed to all.
But my friend,
The darkness
It loves me because
It cannot see me.
I am mystery.
I am nobody.
Light comes
I stay away.
Lies are the truth.
Knowledge brings despair.
In light we find love,
But in darkness is comfort.
Comfort in the lies it portrays
To protect others
From my own insecurities
To show them who I long to be.
The darkness is my friend
Because it sees my lies
And it covers me whole.
