In my mind
I'm alone..
no one cares
i have no voice
no say, no thoughts, not anything
I'm just a shadow
in a world full of nothing
in a world full of hate
but in my heart..
there is a speck of hope
a shimmer of happiness
when the music hits my ears
it sends my soul dancing
and i feel alive
in my heart I'm a swan
careless and beautiful
I'm the wind on a breezy night
or the river tumbling over rocks
in my heart, i am strong
i am the sun, shining brightly on a sunny day
i am a child's laughter
a raindrop on a rose
in my heart, i am god's daughter
and that is all the happiness i need

I was inspired to write this piece after i experienced some hardship in my life. I looked to God to lift me up and that's exactly what he did. I hope people who face family issues will take this as an inspiration..and a message that they are not alone.

Thank you so much! I am dealing with the depression issues, and they have gotten better. I find writting about how i feel, keeps me from the alternative (cutting)

You've got some serious writing abilities.. I read your forum about "depression," and "cutting." I know you're a senior, and I'm only a frosh c: but I'd just like you to know that you're... not exactly alone with this whole "alone," buisness. I think everyone goes through it (some.. more than once) but once you find something (not someone) that makes you happy, you'll fall into your old routine: being happy. You weren't born with this feeling of solitude or negativity, I believe, and you've lived your life without.. cutting... long enough. You can make it through :D great poem, by the way!
