"I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not."
Kurt Cobain

There's something I would like to say
Just don't go away
Please don't go away

It started on the first day
The 8th to be exact
You helped me through my problem
About coming out as gay
I was a rainbow hiding behind the trees

But I won't speak your name
In this poem that I'm writing
It's a secret between me and me
You should know who you are though

I'll be the super glue
And you can be the colored green paper
I'll be the rhythm
And the beat
While you're the music
Playing sweet

Like a wave crashing to the shore
I will be there waiting
As the sand
I will be your land

The ending is here
When I started writing this poem for you
I never thought I could get through
Stuck on the first stanza
Now it's the last
This is the end
Of the poetry I write
I love you dear
And I will never part

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem for my friend Corey to give to his boyfriend. He described his situation to me and I wrote about it. I hope you all like it. :D
