"If you love someone you would be willing to give up everything for them, but if they loved you back they’d never ask you to"

The stars, they all fade away,
I close my eyes, and open them, only to see lies,
Like a mirage, there one second and gone the next,
How could they leave me in the dark,
And no matter what, the stars won't come back,
Leaving my world dark and black,
I blink away the color,
Watching it camouflage into the darkness,
What can i do,
Without them i am hopeless,
Alone in a dark room,
Waiting for the stars to stop playing tricks on me,
Waiting for my eyes to stop pretending,
No sound at all, just the sound of bleak,
Serene you may think, but you're wrong,
The darkness has fooled me all along,
Where did i go wrong?

This poem is inspired by my love for the stars. I also see it as a metaphor for someone or something that means so much but then leaves you when you need them the most.
