"Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right." ~ Henry Ford

There I sat on a grassy bank
‘Midst lilies as they grew
A wood beside me
And a brook
Made the meadow fresh and new

The willows wept as I sat ‘neath them
With withering arms of age
While the robin sang
I heard but not
My mind was my silent cage

Six feet below my beloved lays
In her linen bed of snow
No more beside me
My love abiding
No more the earth shall know

My evanescent love long lost
Still haunts my memory
Ere the dawn
Forever gone
The world has lost true beauty

Till winter breaks I shall remain
My steadfast perch to guard
Here I’ll stay
To watch by day
Protect my fallen star

Here I sat on a grassy hill
Dreaming on the bank
Blithe and blue
Young and true
And into the depths she sank

This story is about a lost love. It is supposed to be innocent and sweet - so I hope you like it.
