Laissez faire
Just leave it there
So that we can see
All that we can be
And that where we stand
Could be hand in hand

Face it now; let it go
Now we know it's just a show
Many of us just don't care
We, as they say, "Laissez faire"
And stand off to the side
We roll with the tide

While they're pushed around,
We don't make a sound
Well now instead of standing still
Unite a front for the good will
Stand hand in hand united together
And maybe there will be peace forever

Just be sure not to simply stop and stare
Cause things get rough when we "Laissez Faire".

The author's comments:
I wrote this because I wanted to raise awareness to all situations that we just push aside, like pretending not to notice bruises on a child, or pretending not to notice the girl crying in the hallway at school. We need to stand up to these kinds of things.
*Laissez Faire means to let it be, or to leave it alone, in French.*

I apologize for being so late!  I hope your finals went well, and I hope that maybe you used my poem anyway, as I don't mind at all!  I'm just happy that you would have used it.  :)  I don't usually get on Teenink much anymore, but I'll try to check back more often..

Hi! I am taking music theory and for our finals, we have to compose a song with a poem of our choice. Your poem would be perfect for it, and I was wondering if you can give me permission to use this poem.
