That which we persist in doing becomes easier, not that the task itself has become easier, but that our ability to perform it has improved.

I was forced to leave
To come to somewhere new.
Somewhere I’d only heard stories about.

“It’s amazing.”
“It’s terrible.”
“You’ll love every second of it.”
“When you hate it, just come back.”

I entered this foreign land
Not knowing quite what to expect
I wind through the halls
Staying out of the way

I try my hardest to hold onto
Faded and fraying memories
And thoughts of what could’ve been
If I could’ve stayed

I cry and weep over the things I have lost
Turning a blind eye to the ones I’ve gained
I’d refuse to see the good
Because I wanted to stay in the past

The warm,
Comfortable,
Unchanging,
Past

Which, let me tell you,
Is no way to live.
I’ve opened my eyes to all these new opportunities
To see how it can be just as good here

However, I can still hold onto my memories
The good, the bad and the ugly
I will not forget the good.
I’ll hold onto those until I breathe my very last breath

I have walked the road
Taking me12 miles away from the ones I love
And giving me that many more to befriend
Another chance to start over

I was forced to leave
Kicking and screaming the entire way
But now that I’m here
It isn’t so bad

Maybe it can even be good…
Only time can tell.

This poem was written about my transferring schools. So. Yep. That's where my inspiration comes from. Hope you like(d) it. :)
God bless!

P.S. I just love the picture! :D

It was O.K. I liked that this a completely honest experience even though it was only 12 miles it is almost like a foreign country. And very turn about don't live in the past and look at the bright side. 7.9/10
