“Freud suggests that in order to love someone else, one must love themselves; it’s a classic “needs before other needs” argument. Unfortunately, no one really loves themselves . And, if they do, they need to get to know themselves better. Unfortunately, no one is really happy.” -Pete Wentz

I have a cloud, hanging over my head

Its darkness overpowers my mind

shadowing, distracting me.

Can't you see the cloud which hangs over me

Dangling in the coldest of manners?

Its darkness chills my heart to the core-

icing it with a bittersweet frost.

My overcasting cloud becomes a storm,

And blocks my only ray of hope, my lifeline,

Like a dark cloud hides the sun.

When it can't hold on anymore,

My tears flow like raindrops do,

My shallow gasps ring like clasps of thunder

Still holding on to a single piece of you.

Because when the storm surpasses

And only the beauty remains,

I promise you, I'll never turn back

And I'll never see your face again.

This piece was created after my friend commented that I had a cloud over my head, and it had a name.
