Flying through the air,
from one mammal to the next
there’s only a few things to do;
land, drink, bother
and leave, watching them in pain
just to support my selfish self
taking what I need
and making my way
onto the next
taking what I need and leaving
again

We just started a poetry unit in my English class. My teacher asked us to write a poem about a habit that a specific animal does that is similar to that of a human.
Some people tend to go from person to person and use them to get what they need just for themselves and not help anyone else.
Once they have what they need, they leave, and do it all over again to the next person who comes along, often leaving them in pain. Mosquitoes do this also.
