Softball
The sun rises,
damp grass fills the outfield.
Orange dirt sticks to our cleats.
We take the field,
fans cheering our names.
Time to do our job.
With the crack of the bat,
I run from left field.
Jump off my feet,
and dive to make the catch.
A bat in my hands,
ready to find a hole.
Straight up the middle,
three runs score.
We line up,
shake hands with the enemies.
Just another day as a softball player.
