(Beauty is) Broken
The night’s been long and hard
She cries in her backyard
Because alone, she is nothing
But together she is so much
She wants something more
As something is lost
A small piece has fallen
His comforting touch
Beauty is broken
It’s raining down hard
Something is shattered
She lays down her guard
A tear strolling down
From her beautiful eyes
Her mascara is smudged
And so are his lies
Now she is running
As fast as she can
She yells down the street,
“You’re a horrible man”
She can never look back
Back at what he became
Now he is sober
This isn’t a game
She’s torn down the middle
As each small piece dropped
Her beauty is broken
Her love for him stopped.
