To Be Popular
She paints her nails blue,
because that is everyone
else's favorite color.
She straightens her hair,
because no one likes
her hair curly.
She wears tight clothing,
although she would rather
wear a T-shirt, because
everyone says she looks
better that way.
She talks to jerks,
because those jerks are
the cool kids.
She ignores her friends,
because they are not the cool kids.
She doesn't do her homework,
because they would call her a nerd.
She goes to parties, because
if she didn't she would
be an outcast.
She takes a sip and pretends
to like it, because everyone else does.
She takes a hit, and tries not to cough.
She does all this, and hates it all.
When does being cool end?
