What Have We Done?
I see children playing there in the meadow.
I see the youth and innocence.
They're soon to be the future,
Are they stressed? Pressured?
Their world circles them with corruption:
Controversial cultures, religions, governments.
It waits for the children.
At a flicker of instability in their years it will all crash down,
Burying them alive in the corruption we've caused.
It will soon be a war.
Who will stop it?
Not us.
We will now join our ancestors-the creators and masters or corruption.
We are causes of the past,
They are the future.

This poem is based upon my experience of childhood, and how fast I experienced that "loss of innocence" where you look around and realise that you don't know the world you live in and you have to rediscover everything.
From early on in my teenage years I was faced with a lot of questions regarding religion and the truth of power struggles facing our world today. I feel like I didn't have enough time to be a child before all this controversy and conspiracies began controlling my life in an exhilarating way.
And so, from my childhood, came this poem.
