"You've got to love what you've got while you've got it."

Notes flow
Soothingly
Matching the black ink

On the white paper
The golden glint
Of an instrument
That hums
And sings
A song
A story of a heart
Untouchable
And hurt at the
Exact
Same
Time
Pain
Unbearable
Falling
Gasping
Grasping
Clutching
At nothing but air
Empty air
Landing both hard and hardly
At the
Exact
Same
Time
Crying
Tears streaming
Wishing
Wishing for a heart

Taken
Taken by not just anybody
But by somebody who cares
About me
My life
And who I am
I may be willing to wait
For you to come around
And realize
That I am yours
Or maybe I should move on
And get away from this
Place
Hurry
He is waiting for me
Just as I am waiting for you
And I might follow him
In a daze
You
Jealous
And apologizing
You jealous?
Of me and him?
Never
But even if
I would say it was too

Late
But is it really too late
Would I really have the heart to turn you away
Empty-handed
Just as you turned me away
Still empty
Still hurt
I know you yourself didn’t turn me away
But I knew you would if I asked
Right?
You would turn me away right?
Stinging
Twinge:
If you wouldn’t turn me away
And I thought wrong
But for now
I turn myself away
So you don’t have to hurt me
Even though it still hurts because

Of you
I just am
Thinking
Wondering
Knowing
That if I had just come to this place later
You would have taken me
I would be happy and peaceful like the notes
Of that song in black ink

On white paper
Arranged by bars and measures and notes
But no, I had to already exist
Already be here
That’s why.
I’m not new
Or glinting gold
To you
Like I am to him
I should go to him
He appreciates me
Unlike you
Even though I don’t appreciate him
What a
Cruel and
Twisted
World
Taunting me
Killing me
I want to live
But my heart is dying
I’ve got to get away
Far away from this place
Far away from you
Where I’m headed
You’ll be waiting
Just to taunt me
Again
But still I am running
Escaping
Like those notes from their instruments
Running
But not
Hiding
He will follow me
At least for some time
He will follow me
I want him to follow me
Even though I don’t want him
Cruel and
Twisted
World
You may never come
Or eventually see that you should come
And have to tear across all the way to get to me
Or see it is too late
Or see that you have to tear across all the way
But don’t
Because you don’t think I’m worth it
Worth anything
But I’ll tell you I’m worth it
And you may never know
But that one somebody
May not be you
May not be him
That one somebody
Will chase after me
Never growing tired
Because he’s doing it for me
Will catch up to me
Now running together
Us laughing
Me simply happy
And when he finds me
And he will
I am only hoping
Asking
Begging
Pleading
That when he finds me
I won’t hope he’s you.
But you forgotten
While we finish
The finale
Of our symphony
