Starting Over

Darling, I am moving on.
You see my heart is broken
but still beating.
My cuts are bleeding,
but slowly healing.
I'm still living,
but not sure why.
And when you see me smile,
just know it's with
every ounce I have left.
Because I believe that
this will pass.
And I will once again
be alive.
I have faith,
you didn't take it all.
I have hope,
it's not gone.
Life goes on,
I know this much
is true.
Even if it means
life without you.
Maybe it's for the best,
maybe for the worst.
But this is far from the end.
This is a great beginning.
