Blank White Paper
I am afraid of this blank white paper
Afraid that, if given the opportunity
I would write all my thoughts on this paper
And I would write about you
All about you
From your dark hair
To your worn-out shoes
I am frightened of this now written-on paper
Because now that I’ve started writing
I simply cannot stop
I can’t leave this poem
At just talking about your hair
And your shoes
You’re appearance isn’t what I’m writing about
I am scared of this scribbled-all-over paper
I know I can’t just write about you
I have to write about me
Me and you
Not just me
A lonely, depressed girl
This paper needs me
To write about you
And me
I am terrified by this half-covered paper
I have to keep going
Keep writing, girl
Why just talk about you, the person?
Not just your looks
Your personality
It is funny
Funny and sweet
Perfect for me
I am relieved by this completed paper
It reminds me
Why I fell for you
It gives me the confidence
To talk to you
As a matter of fact
You’re at my door right now
Wish me luck
And thank you
For curing my fear
