i hold a secret
tucked in my left pocket
where it has sat for days
untouched, untold, unheard
until i reach inside
and gently pull it out
careful not to let
the wind take it, carry it away
i raise it to my lips
which have been unsealed
and let it flow out
until its all gone
and my pocket is left flat, empty.
