I have been candy hearts caked on the sidewalk after Valentine’s Day.
I have been your favorite childhood book, the one with the chivalrous knights, sweet princesses and fearsome dragons.
I have been the texture in a blade of grass.
I have been the sound of your alarm clock buzzing and beeping to get you up in the morning.
I have been a speck of dust on your windowsill.
I have been an empty room with all white walls waiting to be filled with color.
I have been a priest, a bus driver, a neurosurgeon, and a Holocaust survivor.
I am a rescue window.
