Who I Am
I am from the dusty Strawberry Shortcake Wagon Box sitting on the desk
Where memories hide
Where old emotions flow
I am sweet and nice
She is full of sugar and spice
Sometimes she lightens up to a smile
Sometimes she darkens to a frown
The ringing in my ears gets louder
The voices in my head sound angrier
Just like her
I am sorrow and anger
From the fight
It hangs around me like a moth addicted to light
I am from a place where there is mourning and sadness
I am a pine tree whistling in the wind
I am an old woman’s voice echoing in the halls
