His presence lingers
clinging to everything I see
and feel and think
Traces of him
whispering in my ear
and falling to the floor
to rest on my shoes

Memories dancing
like reflections of light
across the oceans in my mind
My eyes play tricks
flipping and spinning
and his hazy silhouette
follows my visions
smiling and gifting me
with imaginary love

Filling my arms
with the cloth of my thoughts
embroidered with tears
made of distance
and yearning
I build him a blanket
to keep his love warm
