Where I'm From
I am from purple flowers climbing tall,
Shiny bottle caps and large black hats.
I’m from mashed bananas and candy canes,
Rocking chairs and old monopoly games.
I am from tea sets and dolls and everything pink,
From peeling window panes and hundreds of questions.
I am from caramel hair, and curious green eyes,
And short blonde hair and big blue elephant eyeys.
I am from endless days of fun and games,
And long colorful walks on cracked leaves.
I am from stars and stripes and worn and faded ballet shoes,
And the sound of the ocean in seashells of many hues.
I am from the house with purple flowers climbing tall,
And old bottle caps and silly black hats.
