neon haze resonates
through the drifting fairgrounds,
mingling
with wander-lustful smells
wafting carelessly
through the throngs of shifting shadows
to puddle
in half-forgotten corners
filled with wrappers and plastic cups,
tempting worn feet
wending their way homeward
