Forgive Me
I'm sorry that I mirror you
And that you're as scared as me
I'm sorry if I hold my breath
And die, when I can save us both
I'm sorry for letting the pressure rise
When one small step is all I fear
I'm sorry that I don't know how
To break through ice this strong
I'm sorry, even more because
We sense there's water underneath
I'm sorry that I won't give up
As long as I can reach you
I'm sorry that the longer we take
The more we break our ties
I'm sorry that I've made you
A person plagued with regret
I'm sorry for the doubt
The anger you face from yourself
I'm sorry that I labor on
And never set you free
I'm sorry that I speak right here
And not to your blue eyes
I'm sorry for opening tranquil eyes
When you never wanted to see my heart
I'm sorry for what we have found
After shining light on shadows
I'm sorry if this ends
When we try and can't get through
But I'd never forgive myself
If I never try, and so, lose you
