Runaway
As evening fades and the sun sinks low
You depart from me with the half-light glow
The warmth is gone, I'm left so cold
All alone, with nothing to hold
With the horizon looming, how can I be so bold?
I count the days as time ticks by
Dragging me down while I dream to fly
Far away, with you right there
Where we can be free and feel the wind in our hair
And when the time comes, should I, will I dare?
I need you here with me now
And maybe someday, somewhere, somehow
I'll sweep you up off of your feet
And make you mine, I won't take defeat
If only, baby, we could retreat
Run away and hide
'Cause our lives will fly by
In the blink of an eye
But together, I know, we'll find a way
Maybe not now, but hopefully, I pray
The sun will rise with a new day
And with its warmth, its loving embrace
Another day, I'll be able to face
For you, my love, I will give chase
