"You understand...It is too far. I cannot take this body along with me. It is too heavy. Left behind, it will only be an old cast-off shell. There is nothing sad about an old shell"

Writing is my scapegoat
A string of words that refuse to exit my rigid, raw throat
Which was torn apart by the internal screaming
Of that little voice inside, and my hopeful dreaming
Feelings swell deep where no one sees
Drowning in my gentle pleas
To exchange a single word with you
But through my torn throat,
I start to choke
On
My words that refuse to clue
You in on my realizations
There goes my concentration
Escaping through my open eyes
Away it flies
To where ever you may be
You're the reason I lose sleep
I lie awake at night and stare at the ceiling
While I attempt to wrestle with this confusing feeling
Around you my mouth will open
But when I realize it’s you,
My words retreat back in
And cower in the depths of my chest
Right where they fit best
They fill the void next to the pumping part
Right beside my silent heart
