My heart has the fragility of a balloon,
Flying high one minute,
It can deflate the next,
I do my best to protect this pump which brings me life,
A layer of muscle surrounds it,
Offering strength to endure obstacles,
A layer of smarts also protects,
By making sure I don’t fall for something,
Disguised as love,
Maybe one day I will recognize,
The layer of people,
Family and friends, who fight to keep safe my heart,
Guiding it towards the right path,
Maybe one day I will let my guard down,
And stop acting so strong all the time,
Maybe that time has come,
For my muscles and smarts,
To share this heavy burden,
With the gentle hands of love.

Boy, when you're dead, they really fix you up. I hope to hell when I do die somebody has sense enough to just dump me in the river or something. Anything except sticking me in a goddam cemetery. People coming and putting a bunch of flowers on your stomach on Sunday, and all that crap. Who wants flowers when you're dead? Nobody. ~J.D. Salinger,The Catcher in the Rye,
