Consequence
I am walking so quietly
The leaves rustle with the awakening
Life groans a fresh breath
But lips sealed so tightly shut
Among the garden of my ancestors
I begin
In the retelling of my story
There is deep prejudice within me
And the world is so deafening
I am lost in an endless sea
The wind holds no remorse for me
It whips across the leaves
Branches bent throughout all time
There is nothing left to see
Tears blinding a clear vision
Shadows moving so swiftly
I want to catch one in captivity
But it slips, like the soil, neath my fingers
Unlike all of this beauty
I am forever scarred, and
To those who once cared for me
Wings have sprouted, like blossoms, I have set myself free
