Thank You
You gave me life,
You gave me love.
And have I ever once given you a word of thanks?
Have I ever thanked you when you:
Helped me to read?
Held me close and bandaged my cut?
Rubbed my back when I was sick?
Made me food when I was hungry?
I can go on and on.
I had never realized that every time I disobeyed
You were hurt deep inside.
But if I ever did anything wrong
You forgave me.
You gave me everything I ever wanted.
All the things you never had.
I know we may have fights
But at the end of each day,
You’re my best friend.
It’s hard to sum this all up into just two words
But this is all I can say.
Thank you for everything.
