Light, I don't trust us

Why don't I see,
What you see in me.
Could I ever find,
Anything decent?
Why do you want,
To show me the light?
I like the dark,
I like the night.
You say you're,
The light.
But I won't let you,
Shine on me.
Please don't try,
To invade my space.
I've begged you to,
Never wound me.
Don't tell me things,
That pull me in.
We can't get close,
You've warned me so.
I'm in to far gone,
I want you near.
Don't leave me alone,
I won't remain.
