I am a small part of a whole
a single insignificance
an unnoticed gem among lesser gems
underappreciated
my neighbors, my brothers, my sisters
they all look like me
act like me
wish they could be me

As a modest plant
trying to make it in a world of animals
I must split from the group
allow myself to break free
letting the wind carry me to a new place

It will be a wonderful place
where I won’t go unnoticed
where I’ll be adored
at the center of attention
commanding all eyes that pass
people will stop to stare
at just how gorgeous I look
and how jealous I make all the others
