Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

Pink is for love, oh so sweet and tender,
For candlelight dinners and long walks on the beach,
It represents they could be the one,
It stands for passion and romance and everything in-between,

Red is for anger, unforgiving and brutal,
For those moments of uncontrollable hissy fits,
It represents breaking plates and punching pillows,
It stands for the displeasure that comes around from time to time,

Orange is for me bouncing off the walls,
For when I’m so hyper it’s maddening,
It represents me not standing still for a moment,
It stands for the hysterical fits of laughter,

Yellow is for happiness and joy,
For the sunny days, drinking lemonade,
It represents all the good news in the world,
It stands for all smiles, all the time,

Green is for jealousy, the little green monster,
For wanting what’s not mine,
It represents the bickering over the Barbie Dolls,
It stands for the envy that makes me insane,

Blue is for the sadness that surrounds the world,
For the depression that numerous feel,
It represents the tears that are shed every day,
It stands for all the used tissues ,

Purple is for the calm moments I have,
For the days I choose to observe,
It represents deep yawns and soft blankets,
It stands for big hugs and tranquil noises,

Black is for power, for taking charge,
For the days I wish to rule the world,
It represents the orders and commands I give,
It stands for me being the leader,

White is for goodness, pure to the touch,
For the innocence that I feel,
It represents the angel’s wings that cover and protect you,
It stands for me, and all my colors combined

The author's comments:
This poem came to me when I was trying to decide how to describe myself. I realized there were so many emotions and that there were colors that represented all of them.

Thanks. This poem was  tough because you have the colors that have obvious emotions such as blue and red, but then you have the left over colors and left over emotions that you somehow have to fit together such as orange and purple. I appreciate all the support you've given me!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! You did very well describing the different emotions and colors. Normally i don't like a poem like this, but you did very good! :)

Well, Sarabear. If this is one of my better poems it means this is better then my other poem... considering I only have two. But I get what you mean. Thanks!

Hey, thanks!! I hope all goes well with your poem and that you keep being inspired to write. It doesn't have to be my work either!! LOL. Just look around you with a different perspective and write about it!!! I'm sure you'll do fine.
