Memories
How dark it can get.
When there is no light to guide you.
The ground is soaking wet,
From the rain that falls through.
I’m finding my way.
And my feet find every splash.
Pictures flowing through my head,
As the memories flash.
Flashing only the past,
The time I wish I had back.
You are only in memory,
A memory faded black.
And now as I walk,
Down this barren trail.
I think of the things,
That I hope will not fail.
The ripped out pages,
And my broken heart.
All the bits and pieces,
That your words tore apart.
I truly wish that I,
Could make it up to you.
But I’m sorry to have learned,
That there’s nothing I can do.
There is no possible way,
That I can succeed.
I wish for another chance,
I will beg, and I will plead.
The light went away,
When you slammed the door.
And this darkness penetrates,
Down deep to my core.
I am left alone because,
We will never pull through.
But at least I still have,
These memories of you.
