Insomnia kicks in,
I can't sleep.
I wrap myself ever tighter in the sheets.
I am too old, now, for counting sheep.
The thoughts, they swirl like the dust beneath wild horses' feet.
What bridges I have built and burned,
the fire rages on, its appetite uncurbed.
I don't know what I did to start this mess.
All i hear is my brain screaming out a signal of distress.
