Back in My Day
I am from action figures and tricycles
From tight overalls and itchy shirts
I am from old, chewy pacifiers
From nightly car rides with my dad
I am from my crib and stuffed animals
From loving balloons and popping them
I am from bunk beds and sharing a room
From fun, remote controlled toys
I am from reading books, like Where's Waldo
From crying over trivial reasons
I am from playing with my goldfish, named Skittles
From annoying my brother just for laughs
I am from jumping in my bed and making it messy
From spending all day outside in my backyard
I am from big water guns and water balloons
From singing songs from cartoons
I am from being afraid of my attic
From almost failing kindergarten
I am from accidentally giving my cousin stitches
From breaking my leg at a carnival
All these vivid memories still inside my head
Waiting to be told to another person or remembered
Whether it be a week or a year
These memories will never be forgotten
