the poison
is like a snake,
slithering down
your
very
throat.
Hissss.
Tickling the tip of your tonsils,
He threatens and taunts.
To Eve, he offered
an apple of knowledge.
To her, he offers
the adverse.
Fear is instilled;
it thrills.
Whispering,
delicately,
He warms
to the point of comfort,
to the point of relief,
to the point of paralysis;
Numbs,
filling each
crevice and abyss
of the heart
with his
apple
of
Morphine.
