summer Air
I wake up to the warm, morning air.
I stretch my arms and let out a yawn,
The birds chirping, never happier.
I smile because I know I will have a good day.
I freshen up and step out side.
It’s like stepping into an oven.
I turn on the radio to hear Jason Aldean’s newest hit playing.
Summer is country music.
Summer is laughing.
The summer fishing trips
That summer romance you wish to last forever,
The late night car rides to Taco Bell,
And of course the flip-flops.
Summer is the best.
The homework that won’t be done,
The drama that won’t be heard,
And the late night study sessions that won’t be.
When I wake up on a bright summer morning,
I smile because I know I will have a good day.
